Interest in the cats under protection in the Van Cat Villa, which is visited by hundreds of thousands of local and foreign people every year, is increasing day by day. Van cats, which are one of the most important assets of the city with their friendliness, white, silky fur, lion's gait, long and fluffy tail resembling a fox's tail, different eye colors and fondness for water, were visited by many local and foreign tourists.

Speaking to İHA reporter, Van Cat Application and Research Center Director Prof. Dr. Abdullah Kaya stated that they reached their 2023 targets only in September. Stating that this year has been productive for the visitors, Prof. Dr. Kaya said, "Due to the pandemic, our number of visitors decreased greatly. However, we had an above-average number of visitors this summer. Our daily visitors never fell below 750. When we look at the number of visitors per year, we received an average of 250 thousand visitors."

A tourist named Irina Kovalenko, who said that she loves cats very much and has 3 cats at home, expressed her satisfaction that the animals in the Van Cat Villa are valued in this way. Kovalenko noted that he participated in a sightseeing tour to see Van cats.
