According to the statement made by the Ministry, Adana Customs Enforcement teams working under the Mersin Customs Enforcement Smuggling and Intelligence Directorate closely followed a passenger coming to Adana Airport from Bishkek. The suitcases belonging to foreign passengers were sent for x-ray scanning for control purposes. Upon detection of suspicious concentrations, a detailed search revealed that there were electronic cigarette tobacco in the suitcases. 7,500 packs of smuggled electronic cigarette tobacco, which were not declared to customs and are prohibited from being imported into Turkey, were seized. The market value of smuggled electronic cigarette tobacco was calculated to be approximately 1 million 50 thousand lira. Adana Chief Public Prosecutor's Office launched an investigation into the incident. |
