In the operation organized by the Customs Enforcement teams of the Ministry of Commerce, 7 thousand 500 packages of electronic cigarette tobacco were seized at Adana Airport. During the operation, it was determined that the market value of smuggled tobacco was approximately 1 million 50 thousand lira.

Ministry of Commerce Customs Enforcement teams seized 7,500 packs of smuggled electronic cigarette tobacco in the operation they carried out at Adana Airport.

According to the statement made by the Ministry, Adana Customs Enforcement teams working under the Mersin Customs Enforcement Smuggling and Intelligence Directorate closely followed a passenger coming to Adana Airport from Bishkek.

The suitcases belonging to foreign passengers were sent for x-ray scanning for control purposes. Upon detection of suspicious concentrations, a detailed search revealed that there were electronic cigarette tobacco in the suitcases.

7,500 packs of smuggled electronic cigarette tobacco, which were not declared to customs and are prohibited from being imported into Turkey, were seized. The market value of smuggled electronic cigarette tobacco was calculated to be approximately 1 million 50 thousand lira.

Adana Chief Public Prosecutor's Office launched an investigation into the incident.
